Christian began his hospitality career with the Ritz-Carlton Berlin. Soon after, Christian became Restaurant Manager at Capella Schloss Velden in Austria. He then moved on to be Assistant General Manager at Haus Wilkens in Germany. Christian relocated to Canada and Vancouver Island in 2012, and later found his calling at the Empress hotel. Certified as a Tea Sommelier by Metropolitan Tea in Toronto, Christian also holds a BSc in Hospitality Management from Northern Arizona University and a Diploma of Business Administration from the International University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Christian can often be found in the historic Lobby Lounge telling stories and offering insightful information about tea. When he is not overseeing Tea at the Empress, you will likely find Christian enjoying the outdoors in beautiful British Columbia.
